Dear Parents and Friends,
We started our class this week with water color painting: a wash of yellow, additions of blue until the green of shamrocks and leprechauns appeared. The children were attentive and delighted. Everyone helped with clean-up. We appreciate the wonderful assistance of Ben's mom, Bonnie and Grant's dad, Bob.
During our circle time, we practiced our "round" singing and listened to stories from the life of St. Francis. We did a clapping game and did bean-bag passing with an increasingly challenging rhythm . Then it was snack time which included jokes, a leprechaun story
and lots of tales of finding 4 leaf-clovers! We did work at our knitting for a few minutes, with Melissa's patient guidance and sang familiar songs: "Way up in Canada" and "My Aunt Came Back" then we celebrated Grant's summer birthday, with strawberries dipped in chocolate! Mmmmm! There was time for a quick goodbye. Thanks to all who helped with clean-up! We dashed outside into the windy afternoon.
Next Tuesday, March 21,: There is an Equinox celebration for the whole school , starting at 3PM. Please join us with your family! Maples will meet as usual at 1PM and will follow a shortened class schedule.
Warmly,
Anne, Sue, Cathleen
