lcg 3/14 and more

Hi all,

Sorry for the late note-- we've been having internet troubles. I spoke to some nice boys in India and now we're back on track.

We had a lovely day yesterday! It felt great to be back in our regular rhythm.

We began with writing cursive in notebooks, copying spring poems. Then we did our opening verse and sang some songs in rounds. That was lovely and fun.

Then we did the old bean bag passing-- this time to the 7s and 8s times tables. Hope this is some help at home when multiplication tables come up.

We did two form drawings-- similar pictures, but one with curved lines and one with straight. We used our bodies to feel the difference between curved and straight. We also got back to recorder and reviewed some old songs and began a new lullaby.

I taught some of the children a new clapping game, from my childhood, then we moved into a nice long crocheting time with Melissa. Be sure the children bring their crocheting (and recorders) each week.

At snack we celebrated Emma Milligan's 10th birthday with a song and birthday wishes.

We did a quick marching song, then sat down to hear the story of Abraham and Sarah.

We finished with some heart thumping jump roping (right in class). It felt good to get back to that too.

Next week is the spring equinox festival from 3-5PM. We'll have regular class and end early. Let me know if you did not get a flyer with the details.

Hope you have a peaceful week,
Lynn

Soren is starting writing group with Sharon Miller with Emma's group. She's there now. Hope it's going well!

Emma was in a play - Noah and the Flood, and was the archangel Michael and also somebody's wife. She did great! Great intonation, volume and a lot of hard lines to memorize! I couldn't have done it, that's for sure. Oboe and violin continue well for both of them.
