Math day

We spent quite a bit of time on Miquon math today. Soren did a page of drills on the number 5 and some number lines and graphing and counting.

Emma is doing column adding of 1,2, and 3 digit numbers and complaining vociferously about doing the drills, but until she can competently add numbers between 1 and 20, I don't feel badly about not letting her skip problems even though she has the concept. I explained to her that it's like gymnastics- her brain has to practice the numbers just like her body has to practice different tricks, to learn how to do them right and quickly every time.

Now they want recess ;). And Emma wants to do science in the name of cooking. Scary thought.
