Life skills
I'd have to say that in the lull of blogging about hsing, we've been doing LOTS of life skills. The girls have been improving their swimming and gymnastics skills; we've moved, and they've helped a TON with all sorts of cleaning and learning what to use to clean what. They've mopped, swiffered, scrubbed, etc.
Emma learned what NOT to do to turn the shower on (don't ask!)
Today they are mixing paints and using different mediums to paint with while I blog. They have been learning about Blessingways and goddesses and birth and the reproductive system. They learned about mumps and sterility. They want to make maps of our neighborhood. they've learned about different dog breeds (we're thinking about adopting one in the spring).
They are dying to get back to some more structured stuff but it's been ahrd with the move and I want them to PLAY while the weather holds!
WE went to a Lilac Children's Garden meeting today and they had wonderful inter-age play with 18 mo-10 yo kids. Lots of dress up, climbing, building fairy houses, imaginative play with tepees and such.
We've been learning how to make more dairy free foods. Emma wants to make caesar salad and learned how to make lentil soup with me.
Lots of unschooling going on around here!
