Tuesday, LCG
Yesterday we played more Monopoly which is really good for Soren's money skills! Then she and I did a mad lib, with generous use of the word Poop, and Emma worked on her 4th grade test prep book, which has a variety of stuff in it. She did a page on synonyms, one on homynyms, one on a map, and one on reading comprehension with a recipe.
Speaking of recipes, the girls made pancakes this morning all by themselves. I did nothing but find the bag of batter.
Anyway, back to yesterday. They went back to LCG for the first time and they were so excited for the last week about going. Emma had a great time. There is some social stuff going on with one of the girls that started last year, with exclusion. Emma didn't have too much trouble with it last year, but this year - she is just handling it in such a mature way that I'm blown away. She basically won't be a part of it at all, tells the other girls that she's tired of that kind of behavior and goes and plays with other kids. She had a great time playing rough with the boys. That's my tomboy!
Soren did GREAT in her new classroom. I didn't even walk her in. She came running up to me and told me how much fun it was as soon as I walked on to the playground for pickup.
They are going to Camp Arrowhead for music, cooking and drama (Soren) and rope course, medieval times and some other class that I can't remember (Emma) as part of a trade with my friend Lauren. She's going to pay for them to go. I really wanted them to, but couldn't afford it this session.
Today we're going to wrap Jude's bday presents and make a cake for him :). And we'll see what else we have time for!
