other stuff

We haven't done much formal, but we've been very busy with gymnastics meets, library visits and more.

Soren is reading her way through Dr. Seuss books. Emma is reading a fairy tale series, at the rate of about one book a day! She's also reading Harry Potter and wants to get the newest Lemony Snicket book (#11).

Reading is the big thing these days. Nobody wants to write or do math, so we'll save that. The girls are going to sing and dance at a benefit for poverty-stricken children after Christmas. Emma really wants to sing. I would like to find some singing classes for her.

She finished up archery class yesterday and really enjoyed it and seemed to learn a lot. They will offer it again in the spring, so we'll most likely sign up. I didn't see anything that grabbed my attention in the winter hsing session at the YMCA, so we'll probably skip that for now.

At the Durolf Invitational last weekend, Emma got a 9.175 on vault, an 8.45 on beam, 7.6 on bars and 7.4 on floor. All around 32.625 which is an increase for her again! She's doing great :).

Soren is loving ballet. Music classes are over till late Jan/early Feb, so we'll take a break from that. Emma is going to start taking guitar every Tuesday night with Tom. He has a baby Taylor that should fit her hands well. Soren wants to take violin, so I need to find a rental place.

We went to see a movie about Bears at the planetarium at the science museum last Sunday, which the girls really enjoyed. They had a blast with the hands on stuff too. Soren did a weather report in the weather station. I'll have to remember to take a VCR tape in to tape them doing that!
