LCG 12/7
Hello everyone,
We had a nice day today.
We started with our opening verse and song, and then did some bean bag passing, working with a song, our 3's times tables and the beginning of a poem.
Then we did some singing, working on songs we'll sing at the solstice celebration.
Then we worked on a mirror image form drawing. This one was a bit more complicated (espeically for me) so we spent extra time tracing it on a chalkboard, and going over my crayon drawings.
We then had recorder time, reviewing some oldies, and working on "Glory to the Mountain" and "Fall."
Melissa came in for handwork time. If your child is not doing a lot of knitting between classes, please encourage her or him to try a bit.
We had a delicious snack. This class loves to dip!
Then we played our new favorite game, "Glory to the Mountain."
Then it was time for main lesson story. I told my own favorite fable-- "The Sun and Wind" from Aesop. We also made beeswax figures from the story.
Hard to believe we're in December already. Please look for details about the solstice celebration on Dec. 21 from 3-5 PM.
Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns about our class or anything else at LCG.
Have a peaceful week,
Lynn
Not much else going on - we've had a lot of playdates lately. The girls made a video script and play with a couple of homeschool friends from the neighborhood on Thursday. Their step-grandfather passed away yesterday, so it will be busy this week with that kind of stuff.
I bought them a membership to RMSC for Solstice, so we will hopefully be visiting the science museum a lot in January!
