LCG 11/16

Hello parents,

We started our class today by saying good-bye to Kaite Donahue, who will not be continuing.

We did our verse and song, then did a marching game and sat down to sing. Then we did bean bag passing, first singing a song, then counting by 3's, forward and backward, to the tune. We also played the game "Buzz" to reinforce the 3's.

Then we all offered wishes to Kaite-- what we liked about her, our wishes for her and our hope that we'd be seeing her at other homeschool activities. We will miss her!

Then we moved on to recorder-- we practiced some oldies, and continued to work on "Fall." The children also took turns playing individually, including some of their original compositions.

Melissa came in for handwork, and the children are progressing nicely. We welcome any knitters to join us.

Then we had a delicious snack and celebrated Michaela's birthday. We went outside to enjoy the beautiful November day and jump rope. It was nice for the children to be able to run outside today.

Back inside we heard our new story, "The Fox and Grapes," with the moral of "sour grapes." This story seemed slightly confusing to some of the children. We will see where they are when we re-tell it next week. We all worked on beeswax figures from the story, and also told about our Thanksgiving plans, and something we are thankful for.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL! NO CLASS NEXT WEEK.

See you all on November 30, and hopefully at the downtown library that following Friday, Dec. 3.

I am thankful for many things, including getting to know and love my evergreens.

With thanks,
Lynn
