We made borders on all our flash cards - 25 green for Greek and 25 Red for Roman, or Latin.

We started with PHOTO = LIGHT and figured out derivatives of that root, in the process, learning GRAPH, SYN, THESIS, PHOBIA, and PHILIA, just to name a few :) The kids really liked this part of it and we had a good time. spent over an hour working on it and writing definitions. We also learned the difference between a definition and a derivative and talked about similes and metaphors. Soren knew what Similar meant, so figured out what a simile is pretty fast!
