LCG 3/1

Wow, can't believe how long it's been since I updated. David has some stuff to add too, :::Hint, Hint:::

Greetings all,

First of all-- I am still in awe of the talent at LCG, and in our own class. Michaela, Emma Kilmer, Lila, Alyssa, Erin, and Molly all performed very well. I was so proud of them all.

Note: Emma and Soren performed in the talent show. Emma did a modified gymnastics routine and Soren did some ballet. They were so cute!

We had a fun, high-energy day (probably due to the talent show). We missed Emmyrose, but were happy to see her at the talent show.

We opened with our verse and songs, did some quick hand clapping games, then went right into play practice. Things are coming along.

We handed out CD's today-- please listen to yours and make sure the play is on there-- Lauren mentioned tonight that her CD was blank.

Assuming the others are ok-- please have your child listen to the play this week. Then-- please let me know by SUNDAY what parts your child would be interested in. The children can call me or e-mail me. Please give me their top 2 or 3 choices. I'll do my best to honor people's choices.

Next week we'll assign parts and get busy with staging the play in Fellowship Hall.

I'd like to try for an extra rehearsal at my house-- Sunday March 13 or 20, perhaps 1-3PM?? We could do a few run-throughs, then maybe have a tea party. Please let me know if either date would work.

We continued knitting our blanket squares, and are looking to finish next week. Erin offered Catherine's services to finish sewing the remaining pieces. Catherine let me know if that's ok with you-- I think at the most there might be 5 or 6 squares remaining. Then we can hand off the blanket.

At snack we celebrated Emma Milligan's birthday with songs, wishes and cute baby pictures.

Then for our two Emma's (with birthdays in the next two weeks) I told the story of St. Emma-- whose pure love saves and then transforms her husband, a cruel knight. We also made beeswax figures from the story.

We finished off the day with "The Big Wind Blows" and "Glory to the Mountain."

Have a good week,
Lynn

We have been pretty slack around here. We had a week off and went to Lancaster and State College. We did do some math at the beginning of this week and lots of cursive. Soren has been writing a lot in general.

Tom and Soren did a bunch of subtraction drills in the car oen night.

Emma is still doing the mother's helper gig. That seems to be going well and she likes making a few bucks here and there.

We also started our puppy class last week. They will attend the series with us, which will be very educational I think.

Emma is getting an archery set for her birthday and we hope to start some rockclimbing in the spring.
