RPO

The girls went to see an RPO concert today at Eastman Theatre and got to tour the theatre afterwards. Soren said it was great! I'll get her to write something about it later.

Dear Parents and Friends,

Our first Maples class in the New Year was rich with laughter and stories and conversations. Quiet moments came in the very beginning of the afternoon when we painted with blue, deep, dark Prussian blue to make a night sky. Then, with a dry brush, we took some color away and out came the stars, moons, hillsides and scenes with animals, trees. Thanks to Lauren Sample for her help with this activity.

Sue told a story from the Jataka tales, the story of The Banyan Deer. We listened attentively while our fingers formed beeswax figures. Then, we were up and actively singing
about a tree in the "Rattlin ' Bog" and all the things that tree held. With Cathleen, we did a
form drawing of a castle wall that was reflected in a river and when we were done , we went into the Fellowship Hall to walk around our "castle" with a verse "Four Strong Walls."

We had a merry snack time, with jokes, riddles, stories and nourishing food, then started handwork with Melissa, with almost everyone knitting . We celebrated Ben's December birthday with his mom, Bonnie, who brought delicious carrot cake, stories and photos from Ben's early years.

Enthusiastically, we went outside into the afternoon and mud!
