Monday activities

Tom is really good at keeping the girls focused!

Soren did enough pages of subraction with borrowing up to 4 or 5 numbers in columns; and adding with carrying up to 5 digits that I'm convinced she has it. On to multiplication and division! She also learned her digits up to millions and how to place the commas.

Emma is working on long division and the terms (quotient, etc.) and also doing division problems with remainders.

Emma has been working on geography - landforms from archipelago to volcano, elevation and what it means, physical maps and reading the map key, land use maps, comparing maps, time zones and maps of them, trip planning

Soren is learning how to measure distance on maps, grids and finding locations based on them, states and how to find capitals, city maps and what a river looks like on a map, landforms and the differences between them, bodies of water and what the differences are, road maps and how to plan a trip,

Emma has been working on reading comprehension: main ideas, details, opinion vs. facts, drawing inferences.
