catching up

I tried to post yesterday but lost it.

Emma and Soren went to Camp Arrowhead last Wednesday and Emma did a dissection class. She and her class dissected a clam, a crayfish, a frog, a baby pig and a worm. She learned a lot!

Soren took a class on habitats and collected seed pods and insect eggs from a variety of habitats. She loved it!

They have been doing some kirigami which Soren got for a birthday present. Emma has been working on learning some songs by ear on the piano. I think I'll get out the theory book again.

Emma had a great meet at Pinky Stone in Syracuse this past weekend. She got a 34.725 all around. 9.1 on bars and vault, 8.55 on floor and 8.0 on beam. Very solid meet for her. She still needs to work on presentation a bit, but it's getting better. Soren really wanted to be able to do her floor routine and kept doing pieces of it to the music in the back of the gym ;).

Otherwise, we've been having sleepovers, playdates, watching a lot of videos lately for some reason. Pretty laid back since Thanksgiving. I imagine that will continue through the December holidays. We really need to get our decorations out and get a tree!
