More on the un-first day of school
We had a good day yesterday. Soren worked very diligently on her Maps book. She really enjoyed it and is doing great at the directions and the continents and oceans. Emma learned about the compass rose, the Prime Meridian, the Equator and the different hemispheres. It was neat that they were learning parallel things but at different levels.
Emma and I played Snap It Up, which is a fast paced multiplication game. I can really see a difference from David drilling her multiplication tables this summer. We each won a game!
Soren and I played checkers and she beat me, with very few hints. I didn't let her win, even!
And the girls played Othello and Emma kicked Soren's butt.
They both also did some writing and art with Clever Letters. Emma especially got into a Mexican theme. Very cute!
We spent about 3 hours just being together, including eating lunch. Soren told me at the end of the day what a great time she had and I told her we were going to do it every day. She is so excited! I love the new routine so far. And this morning is going well too. We might go over to my friend Alyce's for a walk, but Jude is still kind of sick.
