Day One

This is our first official day of homeschooling, although I feel that we have homeschooled since birth with the girls. It's just that we had a blip in our history during my single parenting years, and had to rely on outschooling for some structure and help.

Now we're back on track, and starting today, we're "official" homeschoolers again.

Soren just graduated from Kindergarten yesterday, and Emma from 2nd grade.

I'd like to have some structure to our days - not to recreate a school day, but just to avoid complete chaos.

I feel like we started out pretty well already today. I got up at 7:30 a.m. and got breakfast and checked my email.

Soren got up around 8 a.m. and had breakfast and has spent about an hour doing a math educational CD at the 3rd grade level. Now she is working on a first grade educational Reader Rabbit CD.

Emma is lazing around her first day of summer vacation.

At 10:30 a.m., we are going to speed clean for 1/2 hour and then get our PE in by going to the pool for a while. Then we have gymnastics for 3 hours tonight while I work.

We'll see what else educational and fun happens today!
